The Curriculum is planned as a whole, with the aim of providing a broad and relevant programme of study. We are continually developing our curriculum to provide for the needs of the students. The curriculum is set within the framework of the CBSE. We strive to foster enthusiasm for learning with the understanding that continued learning is important in the modern world which encourages every learner to reach his/her highest potential.

Language Development and Communication Skills:

The need to communicate is natural. The development of language is essential in order to communicate; it supports and enhances our thinking and understanding. Besides focusing on the listening, speaking and reading skills, students are also taught how to communicate in order to express their thoughts and get the desired response.

Numeracy and Problem Solving:

Our aim is to guide students to develop their mathematical understanding through practicality.  The practice of mathematical concepts helps students cultivate thinking and reasoning skills along with a systematic approach to real life situations. Students develop   mental clarity and a problem solving attitude. The learners understand the structure and use mathematics as an important tool.

Understanding the Human Body, Environment and the World:

Environmental Studies (EVS) at the primary stage exposes the learners to the real situations in their surroundings to help them connect, be aware of, appreciate and be sensitized towards the prevailing environmental issues (natural, physical, social and cultural.) Learners are encouraged to observe, express, discuss, question and critically think in order to understand the concepts.

Science is a dynamic, expanding body of knowledge, covering new domains of experiences. It is important to expand the horizon of the learner gradually starting with things that are within the direct experiences of child. The learner is engaged in learning the principles of science through familiar experiences, working with hands to design simple technological units and models and continuing to learn more about the environment and physical health. Scientific concepts are promoted mainly through activities, experiments and surveys.

Social Sciences primarily aim at understanding analytically various phenomena in immediate social environment. The learners are introduced to the diversity of people and their practices in different societies, regions and cultures within societies. Social sciences have an important role in generating sensitivity towards human values of compassion, trust, peace, co-operation, social justice, environmental protection and other concerns.

Value Education:

Value education starts from home but it continues throughout life. Value education in schools plays a major part in a learner life. Value based education shapes the learner’s future and adds purpose to their life. It helps them learn to live the right way of life. Our life skills programmes help students to lead a happy balanced and successful life.

Performing Arts (Drama/Dance/Music):

Performing arts provides the learner an opportunity to build on their cognitive skills. The process involved in the performing arts, be it drama or music, is well-rounded, allowing children to go up on a stage and share their talents with numerous people. Children that are naturally shy learn how to navigate the stage, and children with anxiety might find contentment within the art scene. Additionally, students are pushed to operate outside their comfort zones, and when this progression is noticed by children, they become more confident in presenting their work to the public.

Information Technology:

Information Technology (ICT) programme aims to guide students understand the use of common software applications and use technology to enhance their ability to access, evaluate and research information.

Physical Development and Mental Health.

The Body and Mind are interlinked and hence both Physical and Mental fitness is essential in order to lead a healthy and fulfilled life. Along with regular physical fitness activities students are also led to become aware of their thoughts, beliefs and values.

Art Education:

Art education helps to explore various means of communication (verbal and nonverbal). It encourages to develop creative expression and sharpens senses through keen observation of the environment. It is a process of experimentation and exploration. In the process of discovering space, organization, colours, forms, lines, texture, movement, sound, etc., learners develop a sense of organization and design which inculcates in them a sense of order with regard to their personal appearance, home, school and community.
